Hello there!

So, you like marvelling at other people’s work load? Yeah? Alright – let’s do this then! But be warned: It ain’t pretty. If at any point you feel like shedding a tear – it’s okay. There’s no shame in crying.

But first: Let’s look at what’s been achieved so far. A little celebration of work and effort before we introduce the pain. Here goes:

Our first series consists of 4 episodes and 2 perspectives per episode…ergo: Exactly! 8 clips for you to watch. Astonishingly we have finished editing all the videos and our keen editors have colour graded everything! By the way – if at any point during this post you feel you can’t keep up with the film jargon: There’s always Google. Or Yahoo. Or Ask Jeeves. Anyway, next, our sound-designers did some exciting sound-designing and our talented composers did some composing (notice the lack of synonyms in that sentence?). We got some of our actors back for some ADR and our VFX team created some visual effects for us. The army of translators we work with then did their bit – making sure you understand what’s being said. Also, our designers have been helping us create a new look for the series and the website!

So far – so good.

Enter: the PAIN!

INTRO: We need one. We know this. We have an idea. We like our idea. The people we’ve spoken to like the idea. So at the moment we’re in pre-production for aforementioned idea, which requires another 2 days of filming with our 4 lead actors, who are currently spread all over Germany and the UK. Also there’s a long (ish) list of props that need to be sourced.

SUBTITLES: Ah, Mr. Subtitles. We meet again. All the translated scripts have to be painstakingly transformed into subtitles, which means adding every sentence into a programme and then timing it exactly to the frame.

MAKING OF: We also have about 200GB of Making Of footage that wants to be edited and shown to you. At the moment we are wading through the depths of thousands of clips to find the funniest moments and most interesting behind the scenes stories.

MARKETING AND DISTRIBUTION: We are currently talking to a few people and companies who have expressed interest in the series. No contracts have been signed, no hands have been shaken, but we are making progress! There are many ideas in the room and we are open to suggestions and proposals, but we want it to be the right choice for the series. A key part – if not the most important – of the series’ success is YOU. We made this series for YOU and that’s why at the end of the day it’s YOU who can help us spread the word. Retweeting/Liking us doesn’t cost a penny, but really helps us build our audience and get the series out there. Got a friend who writes for a popular blog? – Tell ’em about us! Know someone who has Gazillions of followers on Twitter? – Tell ’em about us! We’re not a huge global company with an enormous marketing budget, but we are passionate filmmakers who believe in creating original content that’s different. And we believe in sharing that content with the people who really matter: YOU.

THE PREMIERE: Obviously. Invitations need to be sent to George Clooney and the rest of the gang. Red carpets need to be bought and limos hired. Okay, maybe that’s in the future, but we still need to plan a fantastic party for everyone who was/is involved! It’s been a long journey and the least we can do is give someone a pint. Or 2. Maybe 3.
So we’re looking for the right location, the right catering and well…drinks. Some of our team have experience in event management so we’re confident it’ll be a great night for everyone!

So, keen peruser of other people’s work load – as you can see there’s a lot to be
done. Rest assured: We’re on it! Thank you for your interest and enjoy the rest of our new website!
